Lancaster EPS Environmental Statement

Hurricane proposes to begin production from its Lancaster field via an Early Production System (EPS), with first oil hopefully being achieved by mid-2019.  In compliance with the legislative framework for the offshore industry and as part of Hurricane’s commitment to optimising environmental performance, a systematic environmental impact assessment (EIA) has been undertaken for the proposed development.  

The EIA is a tool designed to ensure potential environmental issues and concerns are identified and addressed throughout the planning process.  The results of the EIA process have been summarised in an environmental statement (ES). 

This document has been submitted to the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) for formal review and is also open for public review and comment.  The Lancaster EPS ES is available for download as a PDF below.  Hard copies can be arranged upon request using the form below.  

The public consultation period is now open for 28 days until 13 April 2017.  Any comments on the proposed development and content of the ES must be made directly to BEIS via letter or email and should be marked for the attention of:
