Discovery
Hurricane is all about the discovery and development of oil from fractured basement reservoirs.
Hurricane has 100% control of around 450 million barrels of 2C Contingent Resources across our assets, all located within the UK Continental Shelf. Our Competent Person's Report provides an independent and comprehensive assessment of what Hurricane has discovered on some large geological structures.
Fractured basement reservoirs are found in rock that has been faulted and fractured as a result of earthquakes and other tectonic forces over many millions of years. Under the right conditions, oil accumulates within the fault and fracture network and that's what interests Hurricane.
The first priority for Hurricane is the safety of our people and anyone working with us. We also ensure that any activity has minimal impact on the environment. We take positive steps to address the environmental impacts of our business operations, overseen by our Environmental Committee and managed through our fully certified Environmental Management System (NQA ISO 14001).
